Central Utah is where Ridge Runner Steel lives. Fountain Green sits near 5,900 feet at the north end of the Sanpete Valley, and the region around it runs from Nephi and the Juab Valley south through Sanpete and the Sevier Valley, west to Millard County and the farm ground around Delta and Fillmore, and east over the mountains to Carbon and Emery counties.

This is farm, ranch, and working country. The buildings that matter here are hay barns and equipment sheds, livestock shelters, shop buildings on acreage, and the industrial steel that keeps mines, plants, and processing operations running. They sit at high elevation, in long cold winters, on wide-open ground where the wind has nothing to slow it down.

High Valleys, Long Winters, Open Wind

Central Utah sits high. Nephi is near 5,100 feet, Ephraim and Manti near 5,500, Fountain Green near 5,900, and Loa in Wayne County above 7,000. Winters run long and cold, and frost goes deep, so footings have to go deeper than a builder from the valley floor might expect.

Snow. As of March 17, 2026, Utah sets design snow loads using ASCE 7-22 and its online hazard tool, based on the exact site location and risk category, replacing the 2018 Utah Snow Load Study tables. In the high valleys, that number matters, and a barn on a bench above town carries more than the same barn on the valley floor.

Wind. Open farm ground in Juab, Millard, and Sevier counties takes steady, hard wind. Big barn doors, open-sided equipment sheds, and endwalls need to be designed for uplift and racking, not just set and fastened.

Agricultural use. Many buildings out here are farm buildings, and a qualifying agricultural building may fall under Utah’s agricultural building exemption. Zoning and setbacks still apply. We help you figure out which side of that line your building falls on before you build.

  • Framed to the ASCE 7-22 ground snow load for your exact site and elevation
  • Footings engineered below the deep high-valley frost line
  • Doors, endwalls, and open sides designed for open-country wind
  • Help sorting out the agricultural exemption, permits, and setbacks

A barn built for the valley floor is not built for Sanpete. We build for where it actually stands.

The Fastest Service We Offer Anywhere

Central Utah is home, so it gets the quickest turnaround. Most sites in Sanpete and Juab counties are walked within 1 to 2 days of your call, and Shaun Oram works nights and weekends when a farm or a plant cannot stop during the day.

For the farther corners, Delta, Richfield, Price, Loa, and Green River, we set a firm date for the site visit when you call. Either way you are dealing with the owner directly, not a call center.

Repair and Maintenance Across Central Utah

Older steel and metal-clad farm buildings are everywhere out here, and many of them are overdue for attention: leaking roofs, loose and backed-out fasteners, rusted panel laps, wind-damaged doors, and frames bent by equipment. We repair them on site, and mobile welding means a broken mount or a cracked connection gets fixed where it sits.

New builds vs. repair work

New shops, barns, garages, and carports: no project minimum, residential welcome. Repair, maintenance, and commercial service calls: $500 minimum. Either way, you get a straight quote before any work starts.

Fountain Green, Utah, in northern Sanpete County. We are a family-owned, Utah-based steel contractor serving all of Utah, and Central Utah is our home region.
Yes. Hay barns, horse barns, livestock shelters, equipment storage, and shop barns are a big part of what we build in Sanpete, Juab, Sevier, and Millard counties. We build in steel only. Call 435-262-2794 to talk through your building.
It depends. A building used for agriculture may qualify for Utah’s agricultural building exemption, but zoning and setback rules still apply, and not every building on a farm qualifies. We help you sort that out with your county before you build.
Since March 17, 2026, Utah sets design snow loads using ASCE 7-22 and its online hazard tool, based on the exact site location and the building’s risk category. Central Utah’s high valleys make that number matter. We engineer every building to the load at your address.
Most Sanpete and Juab county sites are assessed within 1 to 2 days. For Delta, Richfield, Price, Loa, and the other farther towns, we set a firm date when you call. Nights and weekends are available.
No minimum on new builds, a single carport or a small shop is a real job to us. Repair, maintenance, and commercial service calls carry a $500 minimum. Either way you get a straight quote before any work starts.
